MAN RESCUED FROM BURNING CAR BY OFF-DUTY FIREFIGHTER

A man has been rescued from a burning vehicle after a road collision in County Antrim.

The three-vehicle crash happened on the Larne Road Link in Ballymena.

The male casualty was rescued "due to the due to the quick actions of an off duty firefighter", the Northern Ireland Fire Service (NIFRS) said.

Fire crews from Ballymena station attended the scene at about on Sunday evening.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, Air Ambulance and St John's Ambulance also assisted at the scene, according to NIFRS North.

The man's condition, and the conditions of others involved in the collision, is unknown.

The road remains closed, police have said.
